Astros beat Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7 to capture team's first World Series title. George Springer and the Houston Astros win the MLB Champion position Wednesday night, winning the first World Series championship in franchise history by romping past the 5-1 in Game 7.

３勝3敗のタイで迎えた第７戦は5-1でAstrosがDodgerswに圧勝した。Astrosは好調打線が初回2点を先取。2回にはSpringerの2点本塁打も出て5点とリードを広げた。Dodgersは先発Darvishが2回で降板という誤算で、打線も6回の1点に終わった。Astrosは1969年球団創立以来48年ぶりの初優勝である。

adidas x Palace O'Reardon

For its latest collaboration with adidas Originals, Palac chose to reintroduce the O’Reardon. This silhouette made its debut in 1996 as a part of adidas’s original skate shoe line. It’s back now with Palace branding just in time for the ‘90s resurgence in skateboarding and popular culture. Converseは販売不振に陥って、2018年1Qの売り上げは前期比16％減となっている。業績回復のために、マスセールスに向いたコレクションを投入するのかと思っていたら、9月29日発売のNBAコレクションでは1チーム250足の限定モデルという企画を打ち出した。こんな小手先のこだわりを追求しているようでは、当分業績好転の見込みは期待できそうにない。

NIKE Reports Fiscal 2018 1Q Results

NIKE, Inc. (NYSE:NKE) reported fiscal 2018 financial results for its first quarter ended August 31, 2017. For the quarter, sustained revenue growth in international geographies and NIKE Direct globally was offset by an expected decline in North America wholesale revenue.

Nikeの2018年第1四半期業績はアナリストの予想通り厳しい結果となった。2010年から5年間2桁増をキープしてきた北米市場はついに減収となり、収益も24％の減益となった。adidasが2016年に総力をあげた北米市場集中攻撃がついに奏効した。Mark Parker（会長兼社長兼CEO）は楽観的な見通しを表明しているが、Nikeの不振はもっと根が深いと見た方が良さそうだ。

Nike SF AF 1 Mid Urban Utility

Introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1 redefined basketball footwear from the hardwood to the blacktop. It was the first basketball sneaker to house Nike Air, but its innovative nature has since taken a backseat to its status as a street icon.

2017 NFL seasonが開幕した。オープニングゲームはGillette Stadium（Foxborough, MA）でNew England Patriot とKansas City Chiefsが対戦した。今年もPatriot は優勝候補最右翼とみられていたが、結果は42-24でChiefsが圧勝した。BelichickとBradyの黄金時代はそろそろ終わりつある。

On September 9, the University of Oregon football team will take the field in a new head-to-toe system designed by three brave kids, student athletes and Nike designers as part of the Doernbecher Freestyle Program. US Open Tennis 2017 begins

The 2017 US Open, the 137th edition and final grand Slam of the event, begins today. It will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, in Queens, New York City. This year’s Open is even more wide open than usual. On the women’s side, there’s no Serena in the draw, and Angelique Kerber has fallen from her lofty 2016 perch. On the men’s side, Andy Murray withdraw the game; Novak Djokovic is out the rest of the year; Stan Wawrinka is absent. This year we might just find a champion or finalist to emerge from unexpected players.

今年も秋の訪れとともにU.S. Openが開幕した。今回のオープンはメンズの故障者続出で、ダクホース進出が容易とみられて、US Open をもじって US Wide Openと呼ばれているほどである。ウイメンズは本命なしの混戦模様だが、メンズはRoger Federerが優勝候補最右翼とみられている。Federerは8月に36歳を迎えたが、歴代の伝説的なプレイヤー達と比較しても最も高齢の現役プレイヤーとなった。しかし現役最良の状態にあると評価が高い。

adidas Ultra BOOST 4.0

adidas will release the first colorway of Ultra Boost 4.0  during December 2017. The lineup will be in full during 2018. Following make-ups from past adidas Ultra boost models, the shoe change the new Primeknit pattern used across the upper and solid plastic cage which goes back to the first two models. A total 20 different colorways will come during 2018.

Ultra BOOSTの第4世代、Ultra BOOST4.0が12月にいよいよ登場する。発売時期から見て、2018年の主力モデルとして育成しようと思っているのは明らかである。一見しただけでは3.0からの変更点が見分けにくいが、マイナーチェンジが施されている。

Nike Cortez Kenny Moore Collection

During　Bill Bowerman's coaching days at Oregon, one of his distance runners in Kenny More unfortunately injured his foot. After the accident, Bowerman created a model for Moore that loaded more foam cushioning and better arch support. This led to the birth of the Nike Cortez, formerly known as the Tiger Cortez.

Cortezは5月以降大量のメークオーバー投入が続いているが、今度はKenny Mooreのシグナチャーが登場した。Mooreはオレゴン大学卒の長距離ランナーで、Steve PrefontaineやFrank Sorter達と同年代の選手である。在学中にBill Bowermanの指導を受けたから、Tiger CortezやオリジナルのCortezを現役時代に着用してレースに出場していた。

Christian Tresserのデザインで1997年にデビューしたAIR MAX 97も、今年で20周年を迎えた。3月まではAir Max Day（3月26日）向けにAir Max 97 LX Wmnsを発売した程度だったが、BTS商戦を目前にした8月に入って、一気に投入が加速した。しかも今回は若手デザイナーのホープDylan Raasch（Senior Sportswear Design Director）が指揮をとって、13モデル同時投入である。

Nike Air Jordan V White/ Red/ Black

Havaianas sold for $1.1 billion

J&F Investimentos SA has agreed to sell a controlling stake in Havaianas flip-flop maker Alpargatas SA to the investment firms of Brazil's most prominent banking families for 3.5 billion reais ($1.1 billion), according to securities filings on Wednesday.

サーフィンやビーチは現在でもFlip Flopの重要な市場であるが、それに加えてカジュアルウエディングやガーデンパーティ用のフットウエアとしてもFlip Flop人気が高まっている。今やFlip FlopはTシャツからタキシードまでコーディネート対象になるフットウエアである。そのFlip Flopの代表的ブランドHavaianasが買収された。
