Barneys’ 5th BNY Sole Series with Vans

For the latest Barneys Sole Series with Vans, the team kicked it up a notch by printing the checkerboard pattern onto high-quality leather instead of the classic canvas fabric. This marks our fifth BNY Sole Series collaboration with the Southern California brand, and this time Senior Buyer Chris Pepe wanted to evolve original concept, which created the checkerboard print with weaving techniques. “For these exclusives, Barneys playfully enlarged the black and white checks to nine times the size and then printed the pattern onto leather.”

2015年にスタートしたBarneys New Yorkのコラボレーションプロジェクト "BNY Sole Series" は今年で4年目を迎えた。毎年出色のアイディアで楽しませてくれるが、今年のシリーズ５回目は、Vans Big Checker Printが登場した。ちょっと考えれば思いつきそうなアイディアだが、これまでこのアイディアは登場したことがない。やっぱりChris Pepe（Barneys）ともなると、そこらへんのスニーカーマニアやリテーラーとは考えることが違うのである。
