2016 NYC Marathon: Ghirmay Ghebreslassie and Mary Keitany won

The 46th annual TCS New York City Marathon took place on Sunday November 6. The race has come a long way since the inaugural event in 1970 when 126 men and one woman ran four laps around Central Park. This year’s event participated in More than 50,000 runners from around the world. In the men’s group, Ghirmay Ghebreslassie of Eritrea win his first major marathon in 2:07:51. In the women’s group, Mary Keitany of Kenya placed first for the third straight year with a time of 2:24:25.
