Nike Cortez Latino Heritage Month Collection

Nike released a limited-edition Cortez LHM (for Latino Heritage Month) on Friday October 7. Cortez LHM is “honors and celebrates the Latinos and their culture. The shoe sports in bright, bold colors and the geometric shapes of pattern inspired by cultural elements throughout Latin America. It is the first time Nike has created a shoe for Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 through Oct. 15.

NikeはこれまでBHM（Black History Month）collectionは発売してきたが、LHM（Hispanic Heritage Month）collectionは発売したことがなかった。しかしHispanicが総人口の18％に達しては、もはやHispanic消費者を無視できない。そこでLHM collectionにはCortezを投入して本格対応することにした。なにしろCortezはヒスパニックの代表的な名前だから、これ以外のモデル起用は有りえないのである。
