Gap, Inc Close Piperlime

GAP announced the decision to close its Piperlime brand, including the online platform and single store in New York, by the end of the first quarter of fiscal year 2015. Going into the new fiscal year, the company will focus on its portfolio of five brands – Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta and Intermix, as well as digital and global growth

アメリカは2014年後半から中堅小売りチェーン撤退が相次いで発表されているが、そうした矢先にGAPまでも保有ブランド”Piperlime”撤退を発表した。ニューヨークの小売業界で話題を呼んでいる。GAPに続いて今後は有力チェーン撤退も表面化する可能性が高まってきた。
