The Rise of Sneaker
Culture Exhibition at The Bata Shoe Museum, Toronto.
The Rise of Sneaker Culture is the first
exhibition to explore the complex social history and cultural significance of
the footwear now worn by billions of people throughout the world.The exhibition, which includes approximately 150
pairs of sneakers, looks at the evolution of the sneaker from its beginnings to
its current role as status symbol and urban icon.
7月にBrooklyn Museumでスニーカーの歴史展「The Rise of Sneaker
Culture」が開催される。19世紀中期カラ現代までの150年間のスニーカーの歴史を150足のスニーカーで再現する。史上空前のClassic Trainer Boomを反映する企画展で、ニューヨーク在住の著名スニーカーコレクター、Adidas、Converse、Nike、Puma、Reebokなどのブランドメーカーも協力する。
