Making Waves : J.Crew x Birdwell

Back in the early ’60s, Birdwell was one of the first brands to specifically design its swimwear with surfers in mind, using dense two-ply nylon and a triple-stitched construction to ensure its shorts could stand up to serious swells. “As a kid going to Santa Monica Beach, Birdwell was always the standard to measure everything else against in board shorts,” says Natas.

J.CrewがBirdwellとのコラボレーションショーツを発売した。Style301へのオマージュだが、プロダクトはJ.Crewエクスクルーシブで、微妙にツイストをかけている。Frank Muytjens（J.Crew Men’s Executive Director）も子供の頃はBirdwellを履いていたに違いない。
