2016 Summer Olympics opening ceremony kick off the official start on August 5, 2016. This was the first time since 1900 that the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics was held in a venue other than the athletics stadium. Gisele Bundchen performed runway walking with 'Girl from Ipanema' in the stadium, the song has seen its popularity rise again on Spotify.
